Vale of White Horse District Council has completed the £12.4 million sale of land to Botley Development Company who are set to revitalise the shopping centre and adjacent land at West Way.

People have until 1 February to nominate a local business for this year’s Vale of White Horse District Council’s V4B Awards.

Businesses in Abingdon town centre are set to get a financial boost thanks to new visitors’ moorings, which will encourage tourists on boats to stop and explore the town.

The first phase of the redevelopment of a disused tunnel – shut for several decades – has been completed. 

Backhill Tunnel – which links Milton Park and the adjacent A4130 in west Didcot – was officially opened on 17 November by Didcot and Wantage MP Ed Vaizey. 

Motorists in the Vale of White Horse can park for free in district council car parks on selected days in the run up to Christmas.

Businesses will be receiving more support from the district council following the launch of their Business and Innovation Strategy Action Plan 2017 to 2020.

Oxford Etsy will be opening their first ever pop-up shop in Bury Street, Abingdon on 4 November. 

The team, set up by Christina O’Hare, who runs her own business -Christina Made It, are set to move in the middle of the town and sell their unique items during the run up to Christmas.
