Vale of White Horse and South Oxfordshire district councils invite you to our 2018 Business Breakfast, held at the Satellite Applications Catapult, in the Electron Building on Harwell Campus.

The event will be held on Tuesday 20 Feb 2018 from 07:30 to 10:00. Registration opens at 07.30 and a complimentary light breakfast will be available before the first presentations at 08:00. This is a great time to network, and browse information stands.

We are pleased to announce the keynote speaker is as Matt Wright, Managing Director of Hachette UK Distribution.

Matt has worked for Hachette UK companies for 18 years, the last 6 in his current role. Matt started his career training to become a Chartered Accountant with Coopers & Lybrand, before moving into corporate and commercial finance roles.

Hachette UK is one of the UK’s largest publishers, which is itself part of global publisher Hachette SA, and ultimately part of listed French media giant Lagardere SCA. Bestselling authors published by Hachette UK include JK Rowling, Martina Cole, John Grisham and Stephen King, amongst many others.

Hachette UK Distribution currently trades as Bookpoint based on Milton Park in Didcot, and as Littlehampton Book Services based in Worthing, Sussex. The business has embarked on an ambitious project to consolidate its operations into a new automated warehouse in Didcot.

Join us on 20 February to find out more about the Hachette story, including the building of their new Didcot HQ, the decision making process, challenging timescales and support they received along the way.

Alongside a complimentary light breakfast, attendees will be able to hear from our hosts for the day, Harwell’s Satellite Applications Catapult, as well as Councillor Matthew Barber, Leader of Vale of White Horse District Council, and Mark Stone, Chief Executive of South Oxfordshire and Vale of White Horse district council as they offer updates on the work of local government.

Following the presentations there will be the opportunity to take part in a Q&A session with all of the speakers. You will be able to ask questions in advance and suggest topics for our panel to discuss at www.sli.do, an audience interaction platform for meetings and events.
