This morning I did a quick interview on BBC Oxford's Malcolm Boyden show. Abbey Gardens in Abingdon has won a Green Flag award for the third year in a row, making it one of the best parks in the country. There are formal gardens, seventh century ruins and a wildlife lake, all in the centre of town adjacent to the Abbey Meadows with it's open air swimming pool. Even on a miserable day like today it's a great place to visit, and when the sun is shining it's spectacular. The park is also expected to play host to the Town's Diamond Jubilee celebrations next year! We are now in competition with parks across the country to be voted the best public park. You can vote online at http://www.keepbritaintidy.org/GreenFlag/GreenFlagAwardSites/SouthEast/Default.aspx?parkID=928 . Votes must be in by 12th September.
