Friday, 21 November, 2014

Businesses and civic leaders across the Vale of White Horse are being invited to come and celebrate the district’s up and coming entrepreneurs. On Thursday 11 December Vale4Business will be holding the Grand Finale of the inaugural Spark Vale Awards. This will be a free buffet evening, during which the winners of the Spark Vale Best New Business Idea and Spark Vale Best Business Growth Idea will be revealed. Spark Vale is an exciting business support initiative and competition which was launched earlier this year to help businesses in the Vale of White Horse commercialise their ideas. Entrepreneurs from around the district submitted their business ideas and these have been honed over the last few months with a series of Spark Vale training workshops. Six ideas have made it through to the Spark Vale Awards Grand Finale and these will be pitched to a panel of experienced judges on the night. After a buffet dinner and some time for the judges to deliberate, the two winners will be announced. The evening will provide a fantastic springboard for these businesses, giving them the opportunity to show off their ideas and celebrate their hard work. It will also be a great chance for everyone in attendance to network with local businesses and hear about the exciting plans for Vale4Business and Spark Vale coming in the new year. The Spark Vale Awards evening is on Thursday 11 December starting at 5pm It is being held at: Infineum offices, Milton Hill Business and Technology Centre, OX13 6BD. If you would like to attend this free event to help celebrate our best new entrepreneurs please complete the registration form. Cllr Matthew Barber, Leader of Vale of White Horse District Council, said: “We’ve received some truly inspirational entries for Spark Vale and are really looking forward to seeing the pitches from the six finalists and then crowning the two winners. This should be a great evening which will celebrate the best new entrepreneurs in the Vale, so I really encourage business and civic leaders to come along, join the celebrations and find out more about Spark Vale.” The Spark Vale Business Idea competition is a Vale4Business and ByBox funded initiative that aims to find the best innovators in the district, and provide them with a range of fantastic prizes to kick start their business plans.
