Car Parking Improvements

Thursday, 17 July, 2014

Following the successful 2hr free parking that was introduced across the District in 2011, it has been announced that further improvements are being considered. A trial is already taking place using the Ringo service, allowing car park users to pay by mobile phone. This trial is proving successful and the service will be rolled out across the whole district in due course. At last night's full Council meeting it emerged that the Vale is also considering introducing Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) technology to allow pay-on-return parking to be introduced. Cllr Barber said: "The technology gives us some very exciting possibilities and we will fully investigate if and how we could deploy it across the Vale to further improve the experience for residents and visitors".
