Some time ago I notice a facebook group about the PyeStreet park in Faringdon. The positive side is that it's nice to see peopleso actively concerned about the state of local facilities, on the down sideit is apparent that not everyone treats our parks with such respect. I wouldlike to praise Council officers at the Vale who have always been swift toact when I've been in touch to report problems. I'm sorry to say I wasinformed this morning of another problem, and in many ways much moreworrying. Someone has reported to me that needles have been found on the ground in the park. I've informed the Council's contractors and I am toldthey will be sending someone to clean up as a matter of urgency. I've alsoinformed our local PCSOs who I hope will pay particular attention to thisarea in the future. Do please report any problems with the state of the park, or any information about incidents such as this. What we really need to do is to change the mindset of the peoplecausing the problem, rather than constantly cleaning up. It has beensuggested that the park is secured at certain times, I'm not a fan of highfences and lock as a solution, but it may become a necessity.
