Council services over Christma

Our offices are closed from 3pm on Christmas Eve and will reopen for business as usual on Monday 4 January. Here are details of changes to our services which remain in operation over Christmas: Waste and recycling collections Our waste and recycling collections will take place on revised days over Christmas and in to New Year – please check our revised collection days for details. You can also find advice on what to do with your Christmas waste. Leisure Centres Our leisure centres will be closed on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Years Day. Please check the Better website for details of opening hours throughout the rest of the holiday period. Severe Weather For advice on what to do in the event of flooding, snow and high winds (including power cuts) please check our severe weather page. Other emergencies Our emergency helpline on 01235 524886 is available to assist with serious noise problems, dangerous structure, flooding, a dead animal on the highway or if you are in danger of becoming homeless. We can also collect stray dogs. Planning applications Consultations for current planning applications will be extended to cover the holiday period and any new applications we receive after midday on Thursday 24 December will be dated as received on the 4 January.
