The countdown to the Queen’s Jubilee is well underway and it is now only a few weeks until West & East Hanney jointly celebrate this once in a lifetime event. Hanney has been planning a fabulous four days of events and festivities for all residents, family and friends to come together to commemorate the Diamond Jubilee. Festivities will run from Friday 1st June and end with the lighting of the Jubilee Beacon on Monday 4th June. Below is a synopsis of the main programme of events. For full details of all events and festivities, please look on the Hanney Jubilee Notice Boards (one at the end of Snuggs Lane, one in the Primary School and the third by the tennis courts) or go to www.hanneyfete.co.uk. As new information becomes available, it will be posted on these notice boards and website. Tickets for the Old Time Music Hall and Dance Through The Decades are selling fast, so book early. If you can help in any way, such as running a stall, helping supervise sporting events or building the Hanney Beacon please contact a member of the committee. We also need urgently names of qualified First Aiders or medical professionals who would be on hand particularly when the Carnival Procession, the Fete (Saturday 2nd June) and the Beacon (Monday 4th June) are taking place. In any event, we look forward to seeing as many of you as possible at the events with your family and friends to join together in our unique Hanney Community in celebration of the Diamond Jubilee.
