A dozen Fabulous things to do around Faringdon

Thursday, 28 June, 2012

A new leaflet has been launched, which highlights 12 fabulous things to do around Faringdon this summer. CLICK HERE TO DOWNLOAD A COPY NOW! From visiting All Saints Church to climbing Faringdon Folly Hill, the leaflet details some of the best, and most interesting places to visit, and activities to try in and around the town. Suggestions include visiting historic buildings and places of interest to shopping at the Farmers Market; climbing Faringdon Folly Hill and walking sections of The Ridgeway or Thames Path. Perfectly illustrating how many fabulous activities there are to do in and around the town centre, it highlights the key features that make Faringdon an ideal place to visit and a great place to live. The leaflet also includes a map detailing the businesses in the town centre, from banks, pubs and health and beauty to engineering, construction and amenities, helping visitors and residents find out more about what is available in Faringdon and where to find it. The leaflet was produced by Vale of White Horse District Council and Faringdon Town Council with funding from Faringdon Joint Economic Forum, with the intention of promoting Faringdon as a must-visit destination. Cllr Elaine Ware, Cabinet Member for Economy, Leisure and Property at the Vale, said: “Faringdon is a delightful town which has plenty to offer visitors to the area. In the past the town has been eclipsed somewhat by the more well known tourism spots in Oxfordshire, however we are determined to change this and this leaflet, along with other ongoing projects to boost tourism, will go a long way to help bring more people to the area.” Cllr Jane Boulton of Faringdon Town Council and also chairman of the Faringdon Joint Economic Forum said: “This is a great example of partnership working with the Town Council’s Tourist Information Centre working with the District Council to produce a leaflet that shows that Faringdon is a great place to base a holiday. It shows that there is enough to do around the town to fill a week or two. Faringdon is a very hospitable town and is very welcoming of visitors.”
