By-election called in Abingdon Dunmore Ward - 11th September

Saturday, 9 August, 2014

On Thursday 11th September, there will be a local by-election in the Dunmore Ward for Vale of White Horse District Council. On Monday 4th August the Lib Dem councillor, who had been living in Wantage for months, resigned. This by-election is crucial to ensure that we get the infrastructure in place to deal with increased housing in our area – especially the much needed improvements to the A34 at the Lodge Hill junction. The Conservative candidate Andy Todd, who already represents the Dunmore ward as a Town Councillor, is hitting the ground running with a huge team out to support him on the first weekend of the campaign. Local residents are understandably concerned about the prospect of a strategic housing site on the other side of the Dunmore Road. Andy Todd is the best candidate to ensure that if any development does go ahead that is results in the necessary infrastructure, especially the new slip roads at Lodge Hill on the A34. For more details about the campaign visit www.valevision.com/dunmore - which will be regularly updated during the campaign.
