Is there a project in your community that needs funding to get off the ground? If so, we might be able to help!
The Vale of White Horse District Council is holding a funding evening on 15 July to offer one to one advice on its funding streams and how to apply, ahead of its schemes opening in mid July. On the night, grants officers will offer guidance on the schemes best suited to your projects, the criteria you’ll need to meet, and the application process. The evening will run from 5pm to 7pm in the council offices in Abingdon.
Spaces will fill up quickly, so email grants@southandvale.gov.uk to book a slot.
The next day (16 July), community groups will have the chance to apply for a share of over £170,000 the council has set aside for community projects when it opens its two main grant schemes. These schemes will close on 15 September 2014 and the council will consider the applications in November.
The council’s Festival and events grant scheme is open all year round for applications until the funding runs out. This fund is to support local festivals or events being held in the Vale of the White Horse. So if you’re involved in the planning of one, it’s worth checking if it’s eligible for a £1,000 grant.
Councillor Matthew Barber, cabinet member for grants, said: “We’re fortunate to be able to offer grants to help improve community facilities and support worthy events and we really want communities to make the most of them. This funding evening really is a must for any community with a project in mind that needs funding to get off the ground.”
