Free Christmas parking returns for 2014

Monday, 3 November, 2014

Once again residents in the Vale of White Horse can take advantage of an entire day of free parking in the run up to Christmas.

The Vale of White Horse District Council car parks on the following days:

  • Abingdon - all day on Saturday 29 November
  • Faringdon - all day on Saturday 29 November
  • Wantage - all day on Saturday 13 December.

By tradition the annual free parking day is provided by the Council in the run up to Christmas to encourage people to use their local market towns.

On the above days only people can park for free and do not have to display a ticket.

Cllr Matthew Barber, Leader of Vale of White Horse District Council, said: “We’d love to see many people take advantage of free parking in the run up to Christmas and get their presents from their nearest Vale market town. And remember, those who already have other plans on those Saturdays can still park for free for two hours all year round.”
