Nicola Blackwood has secured a meeting with George Osborne to discuss vital investment in a diamond junction at Lodge Hill on the A34. Last Tuesday (2nd September) Nicola raised the matter in Parliament at Question Time, saying, appalling congestion in Abingdon makes life miserable for families and commuters and inhibits local growth. This investment is vital, not only to make local development sustainable but also to unlock growth in the wider region. Nicola said, “I am determined to take every opportunity to make the case for urgent investment in A34 improvements especially at Lodge Hill and the work commissioned by the local councils to justify the improvements will help me make an ever stronger argument to the Chancellor”.
