Get active in November

People looking to get active have lots to choose from this November in the Vale of White Horse.

This month’s highlights include indoor walking cricket for anyone over the age of 16, and Active Women hockey and badminton sessions.

Go Active indoor Walking Cricket – free taster session for everyone aged 16 plus – Thursday 10 November, 2.30pm at White Horse Leisure and Tennis Centre, Abingdon

Active Women Back to Hockey – six week course for women aged 16 plus – starts Monday 21 November, 8pm at Tilsley Park, Abingdon 

£4 per week – book your place now by emailing emma.freeman@southandvale.gov.uk  or call 07801203550.

Active Women Beginners/Improvers Badminton – weekly sessions for women aged 16 plus – Mondays, 11.30am at White Horse Leisure and Tennis Centre, Abingdon

£4 per week – book your place now by calling the leisure centre on 01235 540700, or for more information email emma.freeman@southandvale.gov.uk

Cllr Charlotte Dickson, Cabinet Member for Leisure at Vale of White Horse District Council, said: “The Walking Cricket taster will be the first session of its kind in southern Oxfordshire.  If lots of people come and join in I’m sure this will be just as successful as our hugely popular Walking Football sessions. 

“The badminton and hockey sessions highlight our continuing commitment to providing fun and varied opportunities for women to get active.”
