Thursday, 31 July, 2014

On 1 April 2014 Vale of White Horse District Council changed banks from the Co-op to Barclays. Residents and businesses were notified of this in their annual council tax and business rate bills during March 2014 and invoices for other council services issued since 1 April 2014 have contained details of the Barclays bank accounts.

As part of the transition from Co-op to Barclays the Co-op bank accounts remained open to give people time to update their payment instructions. This transition period has now ended and from 1 August 2014 no further payments to the council will be accepted by the Co-op bank.

Residents and businesses should ensure that their payments for council services are only made to the following bank accounts: Direct Debits will have been moved automatically by the banks so no further action is required.

  • Council tax – account number 93835391
  • Business rates – account number 33510492
  • Sundry debts (miscellaneous invoices) – account number 83001202
  • Housing benefit overpayments – account number 93939391

All the bank accounts have the sort code 20-01-09. Please ensure that you quote the account or invoice number when making payments so they can be allocated promptly.
