It is with much regret that I am forced to cancel the Late Summer Ball this year. I am afraid that some our usual sponsorship has dried up for understandable reasons, and many of our regulars are either unable orunwilling to attend this year. I have had some interest from new peoplefurther afield but not enough to make the event sustainable. The band needed a deposit and with the low level of serious interest I have had so far I am afraid it just didn't make financial sense. As I am backing the event myself, and having paid for the publicity material, I simply couldn't be sure of that this year's event would be able to go ahead and therefore feel it is better to cancel now, with some notice, than leave it until the last minute and disappoint people further. Hopefully I will be able to revive something similar in future.
