New recycling services now live in the Vale of White Horse

Monday, 5 October, 2015

Residents in the Vale of White Horse can now put tired or damaged textiles or clothes that aren’t good enough for charity with their green bin for recycling And they can put out any small unusable electrical items such as toasters, kettles, irons or hairdryers out with their grey bin for recycling. The service is for unusable and worn out textiles – residents should give anything that is reusable to charity shops. They should put these items in a tied carrier bag next to the bin on the normal collection day. Cllr Elaine Ware, cabinet member for waste at Vale of White Horse District Council, said: “We’d still encourage residents to give any wearable or just unwanted clothes to charity. Basically, if it’s too tired or tatty for charity, put it out on your green bin week.” “We’re really keen to get these new services up and running to keep even more recyclable waste out of our grey bins.” There’s more information about the service at new recycling services.
