Outrage at housing plans in Kennington

Thursday, 20 August, 2009

The Abingdon Herald reports the outrage our local residents in Kenningtonabout the proposed development at Simpson Way. The application is likely tocome to the Vale Planning Committee for determination in October. Obviouslyas a member of the Planning Committee I offer no comment here about theapplication and will look at it on it's merits at the time. It is interesting to note that Kennington Parish Council are campaigning for morehousing, whereas local residents seem opposed to the application alltogether. The Herald reports that letters of objection and a petition havebeen received by the Vale, I would encourage all those concerned by theapplication to attend the Vale's planning meeting in due course and maketheir voice heard there.
