Conservatives in the Vale have this month received the strongest possible endorsement from local residents in the elections held on 7th May. Not only were the Conservatives returned to office, but with a hugely increased majority. 29 out of the 38 seats on the new Council are now Conservative, meaning that nearly 90% of the electorate have a local Conservative councillor representing them. Speaking after the results, Conservative Leader Matthew Barber said: "The response to our campaign has been brilliant. We have set out our plans for the Vale and have been frank with people about how we will tackle the challenges that lie ahead as well as the benefits we all look to share in. We must now renew our efforts to deliver results for the people of the Vale who have put their trust in us." An announcement will be made shortly about the shape of the new Vale Cabinet.
