Thursday, 9 April, 2015

Prime Minister, David Cameron, visited Abingdon over the Easter weekend to give his backing to Nicola BlackwoodPM2 in Oxford West & Abingdon and the Vale campaign across the district. Speaking to a crowd of well over 100 activists and journalists the Prime Minister set out the important choice at this election, between a clear plan under the Conservatives or chaos by voting Lib Dem or Labour. The visit, just days into the election campaign was seen as a boost to Conservatives in the Vale who are receiving support from across the District. Cllr Matthew Barber, Conservative Leader commented, "We have set out a clear vision for the Vale, tackling the challenges ahead and investing for the future. Over the next 5 weeks we will be meeting and talking to as many local residents as possible to explain our plans to help local communities."
