Save The Plough

Thursday, 18 September, 2014

Save The Plough is a community campaign to buy the freehold of The Plough. Punch Taverns are selling The Plough in West Hanney. At the start of September, Dave Bratley started the campaign for a community buy-out of the local pub.

From the initial meeting a committee of volunteers has been formed (click here for more details about the committee). Our plan is for local people to invest to buy the freehold of The Plough and to install a tenant who will run the pub and pay a rent to generate a return for local investors.

We are currently at the very early stages of gauging the level of local interest in making the significant investment to purchase the freehold. Once we believe it will be possible to raise sufficient funds we will agree the appropriate legal structure for the project and will then be seeking investors.

Our plans are evolving all the time. Visit Our Vision page to see the latest developments and click here to ensure you are signed up to our email bulletins for all of the latest news direct to your inbox.

Remember - The Plough is still very much open for business!

Please continue to support The Plough. Whilst the Save The Plough campaign seeks to raise funds to purchase the freehold of the pub we still need local people to keep supporting the business. If the pub were to be forced to close due to lack of business it would be even harder for us to relaunch The Plough following a community buy-out. The pub is still open and still needs your support!
