Twelve hours to go before the Olympic Torch arrives

Monday, 9 July, 2012

In twelve hours time at 7.41am Abingdon will be hosting the Olympic Torch relay as it passes through Oxfordshire. As the Torch goes through the town it will be carried by seven torch bearers, many of them from the Vale of White Horse ranging in age between 12 and 71. Despite the recent downpours I am expecting tomorrow morning to be dry and we're hoping for a bumper crowd to cheer on the torch bearers as they make their way through the town. For more information about road closures and car parks for tomorrow morning's event please visit http://www.whitehorsedc.gov.uk/london-2012.
