The Vale of White Horse is in the top ten of Britain’s most desirable places to live according to the Halifax Rural Areas Quality of Life Survey. The Vale of White Horse came eighth in a survey of 119 rural local authority districts. The districts ranked highly for employment figures, average earnings and for low crime figures. We are delighted to be eighth in this extensive list. We pride ourselves on helping to support our residents to have a good quality of life and finishing so high up shows that the Vale is a good place to live.” The councils have supported the rural districts with the Southern Oxfordshire LEADER programme, which has allocated more than £1.2 million of grant funding to local communities and businesses since. The council also offers grants and support for community led planning to help residents and communities in the district.
